Donald E. Britt
El Paso- Donald E. Britt, 69, of El Paso, IL passed away at
12:50 am on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his home surrounded by his
family.
He was born on May 29, 1942 in Smiths Grove, Kentucky a son of
Elmer and Virgina Sayers Britt. He married Esther Detty on January
14, 1962 in Chillicothe , OH. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jeff (Jamie) Britt of Hudson, IL;
one daughter, Stacey (William) Shock of El Paso, IL; four
grandchildren, Jared (Lauren) Britt; Jonathen Britt; Emma Shock;
Samuel Shock; two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Gavin Britt; and
one sister, Connie S. Britt of Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Donald retired from F.W. Woolworths and went on to run his own
True Value Store until he moved to El Paso to be close to family.
He enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee, taking his dog for
walks, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday, April 14,
2012 at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Visitation
will be from 5-7 pm before the service. Cremation rites have been
accorded.
